So my fellow blogger Jen over at Jen Likes Polish is on her honeymoon. That means she’s left her blog to the dastardly machinations ahem…I mean tender loving care of other bloggers. My guest post is today. So if you want to see a super pink girly Breast Cancer Awareness mani head on over to her blog!

Lucky 13 – Teal Me I’m Pretty
So my dear faithful readers, I purchased my first Lucky 13 Lacquers in September. The first two I got were AH-mazing so I knew I’d be getting more, and then fast forward to this week when Kyoti says she’s going to discontinue one of the lines that contained probably my second largest lemming from her shop. So I now have it in my hot little hands. I’m going to go on record as saying that I completely blame Mishka from Accio Lacquer for my growing love and passion for this brand of nail polish! And before you can say anything about me talking behind Mishka’s back, here’s the conversation I had with her about it:
Me: I totes blame YOU for my growing obsession with Lucky 13 Lacquers.
Mishka: LOL! I’ll gladly take full responsibility for that.
See? I’m fully above board on this one. Never let it be said that I wasn’t.
Please allow me introduce you to Teal Me I’m Pretty.
I literally just gaze at the bottle and tell it it’s pretty because it IS. This polish is inspired by Kaylee from Firefly, and may I just say it’s “shiny”. If you haven’t watched Firefly then shame on you, go do it now, I’ll wait. Ok no, I won’t wait but just trust me and go watch it.
Teal Me I’m Pretty is a deep, gently blackened teal jelly with multi-colored medium and small hex glitters sprinkled throughout. The glitters totally remind me of cupcake sprinkles for some reason, I don’t know why but I love it! Just look at this stunner. The glitter spread was really nice with no pesky clumping or need to manipulate them in any fashion in order to lay right or look good on the nail.
Picture shows two coats of Teal Me I’m Pretty topped off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl…wait what? No Glitter Food? But, Relly, that’s a glitter polish. Yes, yes I’m aware it is a glitter polish but this polish does not have hungry glitter! Oh no this glitter is fully satiated and only needs a nice protective top coat! My theory is that Kyoti puts magic in the bottles…
Me: I’m convinced that Kyoti puts magic in the bottles…
Mishka: She does. I caught her doing it one day.
Me: I KNEW IT!!! Why else would lacquers with SO MUCH GLITTER lay flat without Glitter Food or some other such top coat? Magic.
Mishka: I think she was trained by unicorns. I haven’t been able to get her to admit it. But I think it’s the truth.
Me: Now that you say it, it seems so obvious.
As you can see this theory is supported by outside evidence. So to get your own bottle of magic (though I don’t think you can get this particular shade anymore after this week so if you want your own bottle of Teal Me I’m Pretty then, RUN RUN RUN!) you can visit Lucky 13 Lacquer’s site and you can also keep up to date on all the happenin’s on her facebook page.
So do YOU own any Lucky 13 Lacquer? Tell me how much you love it – or share pics of your manis on my facebook page!
P.S. Lucky 13 Lacquer is having an AMAZING giveaway right now! You can visit Lucky 13’s blog and enter to win an entire Nightmare collection in the shortie size (which is a super generous size in my opinion, I love her shortie size better than any other brand’s mini)!!! Pahlish – The Great Pumpkin Duo
Remember what I was saying about good luck…yup this duo was another prize that I won in Pahlish’s flash giveaway on her facebook page!
Look at these pretties! My pictures don’t nearly do them justice let me tell you! The glitter is Bag of Rocks and the Black shimmery polish is Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch. These are the first Pahlish polishes I’ve gotten and I must say I was super excited! I can’t believe the run of luck I’ve been having. Also can I just say that I’m jazzed as can be that this duo was inspired by “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” one of my all time favorite memories of Hallowe’en when I was a child. So let’s gaze at these lovelies one more time and then I will tell you about them. Finished? No? I’ll give you another moment…
First up is Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch. I’ll admit I haven’t had good luck with black polishes over all, clean up is frightening, my skin is very pale, sometimes they are streaky and so on. But, I went opened this bottle with an open mind and an open heart and I was rewarded! Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch is a delightful black jelly polish that has some amazing things going on, I know I had you at black jelly but really let me continue. Not only is it a perfect black jelly polish but it is completely filled with microshimmer…and not just ONE color of microshimmer, not TWO colors of microshimmer, but at least THREE colors of microshimmer! My eyes definitely detect copper, gold, and green microshimmer floating in a deep black sea (Pahlish’s description also indicates that there is pink microshimmer so up that shimmer to category FOUR). I’m telling you it’s filled with one more thing…win! There was streakiness in the first coat but a second coat leveled everything out and made my nails look as if they were coated in gel! Picture shows two coats to gorgeous perfect opacity topped with my beloved Glisten&Glow – HK Girl quick dry topcoat.
Next on the agenda is Bag of Rocks. I would gladly allow myself to be beaten with a bag of rocks to get this polish…HAHA. Ok, sorry I let myself go there a minute, I’ll dial it down. It is obvious that this duo is meant to be together and so therefore together is how I am going to show it. Bag of Rocks is a mix of tiny silvery metallic dots (I heart dot and circle glitters!) and green metallic squares floating alongside some light green microglitter in a clear base. This makes it so perfect for layering! I opted to do a gradient so that I could enjoy both polishes equally, and in fact I ended up wearing this mani for several days I was so happy with how it turned out! Pics show a VERY lightly dabbed gradient over MSPP if that gives you any indication of how much glitter is packed into this bottle! I topped the whole thing off with one light coat of Nail Pattern Boldness – Glitter Food and HK Girl.
I’m delighted with this lovely duo and I’m so pleased that I won it. It will be wonderful in my ever-growing collection of indie polishes! Go show Pahlish some love on her facebook page and you can check out this duo and her other polishes at her shop. As always please share your thoughts with me and show off your Pahlish manis on MY facebook page this week!
LynBDesigns – Prize Polishes
So I’ve had a super run of good luck with blog contests and such lately. I received this prize pack of three polishes from LynBDesigns last week and I’ve been itching to swatch them ever since. I have long admired Jennalyn’s polishes but have not before now owned any of them. So without further rambling let’s get onto the polishes!
Look at them there, don’t they look lovely? I love adding indie polishes to my collection. Because of the area that I live in the likelihood of anyone having any of them are slim to none so I can be utterly unique!
First up I have Wearing Foxy Socks from the Dr. Seuss collection. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I was slightly wary because my skin tone and yellow just DON’T get along…usually. I don’t know what it was about this polish but I really quite liked it! The formula was to die for really. This polish has a ochre yellow crelly base and is chock-full of multi-colored and multi-sized square glitters. The spread of glitters was really nice and I was able to reach opacity easily. What you see here is two coats with a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness – Glitter Food and topped with Glisten&Glow – HK Girl quick dry topcoat.
Next up we have Cera, from the Land Before Time collection. Again the formula on this baby was AH-Mazing! This is a mango colored creme base with small gold hexes and copper micro-glitter just shimmering all the way through. Pictures of this polish on the internet do it NO justice whatsoever. It’s such a pretty delicate shade and perfect for fall! What you see here is two coats topped with HK Girl.
Last but certainly not least we have Time and Relative Dimension in Space or TARDIS for those of you WHO are in the know…haha! See what I did there haha!! Ok clearly owning a TARDIS blue polish is going to my head and I’m starting to devolve deep into fangirl mode, excuse me for a few moments while I get myself together…
…Ok, I think I’m better now. TARDIS comes from the Doctor Who collection (naturally). If it were possible to be in love with a polish, and for the record I maintain that it is fully possible, I would be in love with this one. TARDIS is a deep royal blue jelly with silver and blue microglitters just packed in there like sardines! This polish was a dream to apply and reached full opacity in two coats. Picture shows two glorious coats of TARDIS topped with HK Girl.
Overall I am super stoked about these polishes! The formulas are literally some of the best I have come across. Run don’t walk to her shop and get you some of these gorgeous polishes! I know quite a few are definitely on my wishlist! You can find her shop here. She’s also on facebook as well. Don’t hesitate to tell me which LynBDesigns polishes that you are wishing for, or post some pics on my facebook page! I would love to see them!
