I’m Back and Ready to Rock!

Some Polishes May Have Been Provided for Previous Review

Hello my lovely readers.  I am so heartbroken that I’ve been away from you for so long!  I successfully finished the semester and I have just two more to go before I have my Bachelor’s Degree – I’m quite excited about that!  Then I will go on to grad school but it will be such a sense of accomplishment to have that degree!  I have also had a few health problems but I’m not letting them keep me down so let’s not dwell!  I’m here now and I want to rock some cute nails!

Actually let me reword that last sentence..I didn’t let life keep me from rocking some cute nails.  So I have some of my nail art looks that I was really happy with over the past several weeks that I wanted to share with you.  I’ve reviewed most of these polishes before and you know I’ll link you up in case you missed it!

First I’m going to show you a lovely Pipe Dream Polish with some nail art stamping  (Actually not stamping, it’s been a few weeks and I had a brain fart) – now this polish was actually on loan to me from a friend.  I had never tried Pipe Dream Polish before but wowzers what a blue marvel this one was!

Stamped with Butter London - Dodgy Barnett

Stamped with Butter London – Dodgy Barnett

Pipe Dream Polish – Rhythm and Blues is a deep blue jelly filled to the brim with holographic glitters.  They just sparkle like crazy!  I decided to pair it with Butter London – Dodgy Barnett.  I’m so sorry I reported that I stamped this mani.  I think I’ve gone completely crazy – I did TRY to stamp this one but Dodgy Barnett was too sheer for that.

I ended up using for THIS mani Love, Angeline Nail Shields in the mermaid scale pattern.  They work like a charm and are super easy!  You can either just stick them on and trim to your nail OR you can use them as a mask (as I did here) and place them on your nail, paint over with the opposite color than the base, then while the polish is STILL WET remove carefully.  It’s important to do this when the base color is completely dry and the color you paint over the nail shield is wet to assure best results.

Polishes used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; Pipe Dream Polish – Rhythm and Blues; Butter London – Dodgy Barnett; Carpe Noctem – Glitter Slayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat

Next up I have a mani that I really adored!  One of my favorites of the Alchemy Lacquer’s Spring Shimmer Crellies was the most unlikely since I’m usually a blue/teal/green girl and that was Nasturtium which I reviewed here.  Some of the glitters in Nasturtium EXACTLY matched Aly’s Dream Polish – Spicy Sriracha which I reviewed here.

Alchemy Lacquers - Nasturtium with Aly's Dream Lacquer - Spicy Sriracha

I first painted my middle, ring, and pinky fingers with Alchemy Lacquers – Nasturtium and then I painted the fore finger with Aly’s Dream Polish – Spicy Sriracha.  I then stamped my “communication” finger with Spicy Sriracha using MoYou London plate Sailor – 04.  I topped off the ring and pinky fingers with some cute little golden hex studs from Winstonia.

A word about MoYou London plates…AWESOMESAUCE.  Is that word enough for you?  I could go on and on.  I’m hoping I’ll be able to acquire some more plates and really experiment with them and I assure you I’ll be sharing those results with you!

Polishes Used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; Alchemy Lacquers – Nasturtium; Aly’s Dream Polish – Spicy Sriracha; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That

Last but not least I have another nail art stamping look to show you!  I know I’ve mentioned before that this polish is the most TARDIS blue polish I have even though it’s based on the Sherlock fandom.  That’s ok I’m an equal opportunity fangirl so it works for me.

Stamped with Sally Hansen - Silver Sweep

Stamped with Sally Hansen – Silver Sweep

This is A Study in Polish – Not Our Division which is just so great and I have reviewed it right here!  I stamped with Sally Hansen – Silver Sweep using MoYou London plate Pro – 01.  I got a little excited with the pressure on the stamping that’s why it looks more like an outline in places but I’m still trying to get really good at stamping and sometimes it’s not a total win.  I still ADORED this mani and got so many compliments on it!  I added a cute little Winstonia star stud (because, STARS) on my ring finger to finish off the whole look.

Polishes used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; A Study in Polish – Not Our Division; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That

There you have it some of the nail art I’ve been doing.  I’ve done some plain manis too of course, I don’t keep anything on too long but I was really pleased with these.  I do have some new swatches and reviews coming up and I have heard some whispers about the new Alchemy Lacquers summer line.

I’m going to include some stalker links for the brands I mentioned here:

Wingdust Review!

Nothing to Disclose

Dear readers I’m sure you thought I fell off the face of the Earth.  I assure you that this is not the case at all!  As I mentioned before I am wrapping up the end of semester and I have quite a lot on my plate right now plus some other things I won’t bore you with because don’t you hate it when people go on and on with excuses?  Regardless I am here now!  Not only am I here now but I’m going to show you a new delightful polish and one that is a newish brand for me!  This one was a gift from a friend.

Wingdust Imagine Me n’ You!

Imagine Me n' You

Imagine Me n’ You

This is a beautiful light blurple crelly packed with all kinds of glittery goodness.  There are medium satin lavender and sky blue dots and some smaller satin sky blue dots,  satin limegreen squares and hexes, small metallic purple hexes, small metallic raspberry dots,  small metallic grass green dots, and some microglitter of various colors.

Imagine Me n' You

Imagine Me n’ You

The application on this was really lovely.  This is one of the first Wingdusts I’ve tried and if they are all like the ones I’ve tried so far I can foresee that many more will make it onto my wish list!  I didn’t really have to do any fishing or glitter placement to get a nice scattering of glitter.  The layering of textures and colors among the glitters is really beautiful and I think this is such a soft pretty color for Spring!  Photos show two coats with topcoats.

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Wingdust Collections – Imagine Me n’ You; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat

You can get Wingdust from her Etsy Store.  Not to mention you can follow Wingdust on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date on all the latest news.  Wingdust is also available at different stockists around the world so that anyone anywhere can get their own bottle of Wingdust.

Alchemy Lacquers Lab Report Part Two – Spring Collection

Provided for Honest Review

Soooo remember how I told you that one post could not hold all the Epic that I had received to review from Alchemy Lacquers?  Well this is part two of my “Lab Report!”  Today I have three beautiful polishes that are just so pretty and perfect for Spring!  Rebecca calls these her “Shimmer Crellies” which is a perfect description!

First up I have Crocus!

Crocus

Crocus

Crocus is a lovely light pink-leaning purple crelly base filled with a pearly shimmer.  It also has glitter!  And lots of it!  I see metallic dark purple squares, satin pale pale purple squares, tiny golden yellow hexes, and teensie metallic dark purple dots.

Crocus

Crocus

These are crelly bases so they are a bit sheer but they build up beautifully or you can layer them over a base color.  I much prefer to build them up because it creates a depth that you just don’t really get with them layered over a color.  Pictures show three coats with topcoat!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu;  Alchemy Lacquers – Crocus; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat.

Next up is the first of my two favorites.  I totally could not decide which one I liked best!  This one is Nasturtium!

Nasturtium

Nasturtium

I really wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this one because I tend to shy away from yellows and oranges but this one is just lovely!  The crelly base is the precise color of an Orange Julius and it’s filled with red, orange, and yellow glitter in various finishes, shapes, and sizes.

Nasturtium

Nasturtium

This one was very sheer in the first coat and I was worried slightly that I might have to do more than three coats or that I’d have to layer it but I was wrong!  Just three coats and it was fully opaque!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Alchemy Lacquers – Nasturtium; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat.

Next up is one that I received a prototype lab sample of quite awhile ago…I have been pestering Rebecca ever since over these shimmer crellies because I knew then before it was even finalized that I loved them!  This is Borage (the final version).

Borage

Borage

O.M.G.  I love blue polishes, I love crelly based glitter polishes, I’m feeling the more subtle smaller glitter, and shimmer and sparkle?  Why yes sign me up for more of these shimmer crellies!!!  Borage is a sky blue shimmer crelly base filled with teeeensie tiny satin barely blue squares, tiny metallic purple squares, small satin barely blue dots, small matte blue hexes, and small holographic deep teal hexes.

Borage

Borage

I don’t know if it’s because this one I just love so much or what but I think that in this one the glitter went on even easier than the other two I reviewed.  Either way the formula on all of them was really stellar!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu;  Alchemy Lacquers – Borage; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat.

All of these and so many more are available RIGHT NOW over at Alchemy Lacquers.  Trust me you want these and so much more!

Lab Report – Alchemy Lacquers’ Spring Release – Part One!

Provided for Honest Review

Oh My Heck!  The EPIC cannot be contained in one post so I am going to break it into two posts.  Rebecca over at Alchemy Lacquers has outdone herself this time!  The amount of awesome polishes that she is releasing tomorrow is enough to send anyone into a Spring related frenzy of happiness.  Trust me there is something (or lots of somethings) for everyone!

First up is a beautiful speckled cream polish.  It’s not like the different freckled and speckled polishes we’ve seen before though.

Wisteria

Wisteria

This is Wisteria.  Wisteria is a pale pale lavender cream with a silver microshimmer and the TINIEST metallic purple microglitter I have ever seen.  This polish is awesome on it’s own, or it would pair nicely as an undie or with other polishes from the Spring Collection as an accent.  Very versatile!

Wisteria

Wisteria

Picture shows two coats.  First coat was sheer and the tiniest bit streaky but the second coat leveled everything out and I could not be more happy about this polish.

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Alchemy Lacquers – Wisteria; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat

Next up I have the first of two new additions to the overall Alchemy Lacquers lineup.  When Rebecca does a “special” polish that has some neat effect but may not figure in a permanent core line she calls it an Elixir.  The following glitter toppers are also special but don’t have the special color shiftiness of the Elixirs and are thus called Potions!  This is Potion #1.

Potion #1 (over Alchemy Lacquers - Wisteria)

Potion #1 (over Alchemy Lacquers – Wisteria)

Now ya’ll know me…I adore glitter, I adore glitter toppers.  This one is no exception.  I adore this polish.  Potion #1 is an amazing small-gauge glitter topper filled with tiny metallic raspberry hexes, matte goldenrod dots, satin goldenrod squares, satin baby pink dots, and teensie tiny satin white dots and hexes.  I’m pretty sure that’s it but I could be wrong!  I absolutely could not resist adding the bow because it is the perfect color to go with the little goldenrod glitters!

Potion #1 (over Alchemy Lacquers - Wisteria)

Potion #1 (over Alchemy Lacquers – Wisteria)

Oh yeah that’s one amazeballs glitter topper!  The pictures show one coat over Alchemy Lacquers – Wisteria.  No formula issues whatsoever.  It was literally swipe and go!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Alchemy Lacquers – Wisteria; Alchemy Lacquers – Potion #1; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat

So what should follow Potion #1?  Why Potion #2 OF COURSE!

Potion #2 (Over Butter London - Yummy Mummy)

Potion #2 (Over Butter London – Yummy Mummy)

Potion #2 is just lovely and springy!  You want sparkle?  Well you’ll get it with this!  This glitter topper is filled to the brim with metallic silver and pastel glitters in various shapes, colors, and sizes!

Now, my bottle was a mini bottle and I think I *might* have exposed it to too much air but mine was a little bit thick.  I thinned it easily though with a couple of drops of polish thinner (I use Beauty Secret).  Once I did that it was just perfect.  Pictures show one coat over undies!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Butter London – Yummy Mummy; Alchemy Lacquers – Potion #2; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat

Last up on the docket today is my absolute favorite.  If you’ve been following Alchemy Lacquers for awhile you might have noticed the specialty polishes she has.  They started in February with Gilded Rose Hips, then in March there was Gilded Clover, and now for this month we have Gilded Hyacinth!

Gilded Hyacinth

Gilded Hyacinth

Oh.My.Heck.  My pictures cannot even begin to capture the sparkle factor on this baby.  Gilded Hyacinth is a periwinkle polish with a gold-silver switch and as if that wasn’t enough she added holographic and metallic glitters in a variety of spring colors, I see teal, blue, rose pink, and a light copper.  The periwinkle plays hide and seek with you because the gold-silver switch is SO sparkly!  When you’re looking at your nails right on it has a sort of platinum look to it but when you shift your fingers that periwinkle comes out to play!

Gilded Hyacinth

Gilded Hyacinth

This is not a glitter topper.  It is most definitely a standalone polish though I’m interested in putting over some different undies to see what kind of looks I can come up with.  Formula was good on this, it also runs a touch on the thick side, but I think that it’s because it’s just so packed with goodness.  A drop or two of thinner worked that out!  Pictures show TWO COATS that’s it.   I probably could have gotten away with one but I wanted to make sure I didn’t have any bare spots at all!  I did smooth it out with topcoat but in all actuality it would be a uber-cool texture polish too!

Polishes used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Alchemy Lacquers – Gilded Hyacinth; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Glisten & Glow – HK Girl Topcoat.

Oh so you saw that I mentioned that these PLUS a BUNCH more polishes are going to be released at Alchemy Lacquers TOMORROW!  Seriously plan to be there or be square because these are  some of the most amazing polishes I’ve seen this spring.  I cannot wait to show you what I have for you tomorrow!

You can keep up with all the news and happenings on Alchemy Lacquers’ Website and Facebook page.  You can see sneak peaks, swatches, and other fun pictures on their Instagram.  Most importantly you can BUY your very own piece of Spring from their Etsy Shop!
