Wingdust Collections – Swatches and Review

Giveaway Prize

Readers far and wide!  I have a lovely pair of Wingdust Collections polishes to show you today.  I received these as a giveaway prize from their Facebook page and I cannot begin to tell you how delighted I was to receive them…not to mention the glass nail file (my favorite one so far) and Canadian candy that was in the package too!

First up is a lovely girly that is perfect for summer!  This is Funhouse!

Funhouse is a bright pastel lavender crelly based polish filled with neon pink, pastel pink, aqua, and bright purple glitters in a multitude of shapes and sizes.  It would be a tragedy for me not to mention the lovely subtle shimmer that runs throughout the polish.  There are triangle and star glitter in here so it’s a WIN for me!

I have a small collection of Wingdust Collections polishes now and I have encountered nothing but greatness.  For a crelly-based glitter which can sometimes present some challenges in application this one is really top of the heap when it comes to glitter dispersion and application.  I didn’t have to fish for the shaped glitters and I didn’t have any troubles applying the polish.  Pictures show two coats plus a glitter smoothing topcoat and a shiny topcoat.

Polishes used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; Wingdust Collections – Funhouse (prototype); Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat

Next up is After-Party @ Jimmy’s!

I LOVE this one.  It’s every single thing that I love about indie nail polish.  Unique? Check!  Jelly-based glitter bomb? CHECK!  Star Glitter? checkCheckCHECK!  Doesn’t hurt that it’s in my go-to color family either…I’m just super drawn to blues and teals and this one has both…score!  After-Party at Jimmy’s is a dark blue/blurple jelly base packed with shimmer.  There are navy, lavender, pastel pink, magenta and teal glitter is several shapes (including triangles and stars!) and finishes.

The thing that I’ve come to really enjoy about Wingdust Collections is the ease of use.  I think that even polishers who aren’t familiar with these kinds of polishes would find it relatively easy to apply.  I didn’t have any problem with getting glitter on the nail or spreading evenly.  Because of the jelly base it has a delicious depth to it that you just don’t get with non-jelly based polish.  There is a trade off of translucency but this was still only two and a half coats plus glitter smoother and topcoat.

Polishes used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; Wingdust Collections – After Party @ Jimmy’s; Carpe Noctem – Glitterslayer; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat

So what do you think?  Gonna be adding a few Wingdusts to your collection?  I highly recommend that!  You can get Wingdust from her Etsy Store.  Not to mention you can follow Wingdust on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date on all the latest news.  Wingdust is also available at different stockists around the world so that anyone anywhere can get their own bottle of Wingdust.

Doctor Who Day Preparation – Featuring YouPolish Vinyl Nail Decals!!

Provided for Honest Review

My dearest readers, please allow me a moment of flailing as I get ready to write this post….

Ok I’m good now.  So, Lauren from YouPolish approached some bloggers she had worked with in the past and said “Hey, what kind of vinyl nail decals would ya’ll like to see?”  Well surely you know what I asked for, even if the title HADN’T tipped you off you should have known what I would ask for!

You got it… Doctor Who themed nail decals.  Be still my hearts.

So YouPolish got some amazing iconic Doctor Who images ready for you to dress up your digits on August 23rd!  Who else is counting the minutes?  What about seconds?  Just me?  Alrighty then…well let’s get onto the pictures!  Since I wanted to show you the variety of decals I opted to pair them with some appropriate Doctor Who themed polishes from my collection!

YouPolish Decals (Shown on Lucky 13 Lacquer - Life is Short and You Are Hot)

YouPolish Decals (Shown on Lucky 13 Lacquer – Life is Short and You Are Hot)

First up are the TARDIS and The Tenth Doctor’s profile!  Of course as you Whovians all know, Life is Short and You Are Hot is a line uttered to Sally Sparrow in the episode Don’t Blink and that the Angels had the TARDIS!  This was during the Tenth Doctor’s run as well.

Oh the feels.  This is the Eleventh Doctor’s profile and I put it on with Softening the Bad Things by L13L.  This polish is based on the episode Vincent and The Doctor and is when I finally fell in love with Eleven.  It took me awhile to get over losing Ten but Eleven really won me over in this episode.  While I’m eager for the New Doctor I am still very emotional over losing Eleven!

Well we just couldn’t have Doctor Who themed decals without a DALEK!  This is probably my favorite of the decals because Daleks really are the penultimate bad guy in Doctor Who.

These decals are awesome.  They are easy to apply, stick well, and come in a host of colors!  The only one I didn’t show here was Nine’s profile which is just as awesome as all the rest.  I really like the variety of images and I can’t wait to do my mani for the Series 8 Premiere on August 23rd!   You can get these decals (and so many others!!!) from YouPolish and they should be available today!

To get your own decals you can visit YouPolish’s Shop!  To keep up with all the news and pictures you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram!

Wednesdays We Wear Pink – Featuring Jindie Nails!

Nothing to Disclose

Hello again.  We’ve reached another Wednesday and although I know I missed last week I’m back with another fantastic pink polish!

One of my all time favorite brands is Jindie Nails.  I just love so many of Jen’s polishes and that’s probably why I have more Jindies than anything else in my “stash.”  Today I’m going to share one that is outside of the norm for me.  Usually I only share polishes that are easy for you, my dearest readers, to also obtain.   While this polish has not ever been for sale by Jindie Nails, I have seen it pop up on destash sales though so keep your eyes peeled because if you love pink polish you’ll want this one!  It’s just gorgeou…what are you tired of my rambling?  You know Patience is a Virtue:

Haha!  See what I did there?  I crack myself up!  Anyway this beauty was a gift for some very patient customers who bore the wait for shipping due to some unforeseen circumstances.  This in and of itself is one of the reasons that I love Jindie Nails.  Jen really tries to go above and beyond for her loyal customers because she genuinely appreciates their support!

Let me just say that usually I’m singing the praises of Jindie Nails’ crelly glitter polishes because honestly they are the first and still the best crelly glitters I’ve ever worn.  There are other great ones out there don’t misunderstand me, but I will always love Jindies just a touch more.   This one however is a gorgeous shimmery jelly base in a lovely hot pink.  Floating amongst the jelly is a plethora of pastel matte and metallic dots and hexes and some metallic microglitter or shimmer.

I love this polish.  It was a dream to apply actually.  It is a bit sheer if you have longer nails so you may need two and a half (as I did) to three coats.  I didn’t have to fish for the larger glitters and for the most part they did all disperse nicely (I nudged a few errant glitters back into position with the brush as I was applying).  Because of the larger glitters I DO recommend a glitter smoothing top coat for a glass smooth finish!

Products used:  Glisten & Glow – Stuck on Blu; Jindie Nails – Patience is a Virtue; Nail Pattern Boldness – Glitter Food; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat.

So I know that you’re interested in where you can find out more about Jindie Nails and also maybe add some to your own “stash”  You can keep up to date on all the news and happenings on Jindie’s Facebook Page and see loads of pretty pictures on Instagram.  You can buy Jindie at many fine stockists around the world and of course from the Jindie Website (where she just happens to be running a summer sale with 20% off by using the code SUMMERSALE20 but only until the end of the month so move quickly)!

Reverie Nail Lacquer – Andromeda Swatches and Review!

Nothing to Disclose

Dearest readers.  I apologize for my unannounced absence!  We’ve been real busy at my place canning, making jelly, and a little home baking lately.   I love it but it has been very  busy and tiring!

Today I have a new to me brand, Reverie Nail Lacquer (Formerly Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer).   They released an absolutely gorgeous summer collection and I have one of those to show you today!!!  I saw this and was all like “ZOMGIHAVETOHAVEITRIGHTNOW!!!!!”  I pretty much ran it together and shouted it just like it’s typed.  I bet you’re like “what is this particular potion that she had to have?”…let me introduce you to Andromeda:

Reverie Nail Lacquer - Andromeda

Yes!  That stunner right there is in my polish drawer right now begging me to wear it again!  I digress…but really you should be used to me digressing I do it all the time.  Anyway this is a gorgeous bright blurple jelly packed to the brim with glitter.  There are dots and hexes and microglitter but most importantly there are STARS heaps of stars in every size and color!  Surely by now you know my penchant for star glitter.

Really, who WOULDN’T fall in love with this polish?  This shows two and half coats (extra on the tips because it is a jelly and there fore quite sheer).  Glitter fishing?  What is that?  It doesn’t exist with this polish that’s what!  Seriously I ended up with so much glitter I had to wipes some of it off the brush.  Talk about glittertastic!  Not only that shaped glitters can be notoriously hard to get onto the nail but I counted 25 stars on my 10 nails before I stopped and figured that it was enough stars!

Products used:  Sally Hansen – Complete Care 4-in-1 Treatment; Reverie Nail Lacquer – Andromeda; Digital Nails – Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That Topcoat; Winstonia – Star Stud

What’s that?  You want to see more Reverie and get you some too?  Well I have all the information to drop on ya!  You can see pretty pictures and get the news at Reverie’s Facebook and Instagram.  You can buy your own Reverie Nail Lacquer in their Etsy Store!  They are currently in the process of moving/settling in but they’ll be back soon!
